Yesterday, a really good friend of mine, by the name of Rudy Etienne, sent me this artwork. It was such a wonderful and unexpected surprise. I was really amazed to recognize myself in this caricature. It’s so me!
This is the begining of an interesting project we are working on, I hope I will be able to show you more about it very soon.
In the last week I revealed yet another other reason to love my IPHONE.
I just discovered the application Hipstamatic. It turns out that it works just great, and I can’t stop using it.
I wanted to share my images with you, so I decided to reveal them here. Truthfully, I enjoyed this side project so much, that I decided to create a new page where I will add my Iphone images regularly.
Click on the image below and enjoy! "I love fire hydrants, so old school and inspiring
I hope you’ve enjoyed this night through 2010. May this year gives you everything you ever expected.

Hi folks,
For those of you who are familiar with my work, you know that I specialize in the genre of, “babies & bellies” photography, but what you might not know about me is that I have started to delve into underwater photography . Below you can see a sample of my underwater work. I started this new modality while I was still based in Europe, but I now have started working on new projects here in the USA. Currently I am looking to find a pool(s) that I can use for my photo-shoots, either private or business owned, that are affordable and available year round. In Belgium I primarily did my shoots in clients and/or friend’s pools, but since i just arrived in NYC I haven’t had the time to make these connections as of yet, but I am trying!
I really miss doing underwater photography. So if you, a family member, or a friend, has either an inside pool or outdoor heated pool (for year around shoots) I would really like to speak with you. I am willing to barter, and to an underwater session of you and your family, free of charge, in exchange for use of your pool. I really want to stay in touch with the liquid element, year around, in my new, wonderful City. Feel free to contact me anytime if you are interested.
You can click the pictures below see the underwater gallery on my commercial website.
Although I wanted to use this picture as the cover of my new portfolio that I am publishing now, I was unable, because of issues which occurred while shipping my personal effects to the States. Many of my prized photography equipment was lost or destroyed (some still not accounted for) by UPS’ subpar, and unprofessional services. Also, credit card’s billing address were not matching so unable to order what i need or to set up my fedex account. So hopefully everything will be resolved and this picture will make it into the portfolio maybe by February?? That’s a long time to wait, but I like to do things the best way or I’d rather not do them at all. We are in a world where attention to detail matters more than ever before, don’t we?
While I was living in Europe I did things in a much simpler way, but I didn’t have to compete with lot of great photographers in my field, I was nearly the only one in my logistical area, that was shooting only in the genre of pregnancy and baby pictures.
But,New York City is a magical place full of images and has great photography schools. This means that in NYC we have the largest concentration of professional photographers on earth. So, the question is, how do I stand out amongst the others? Dispatching business cards at the grocery store or at the corner of the street, is no longer enough to compete in such a competitive market.
When deciding to relocate to a city with heavy competition, such as New York, it is better to brush up on your marketing skill set. Don’t have any past experience? Then, I’d suggest that you consider going to a marketing class or find the right people to help you. I guess I am in the middle of that transition right now. From my point of view, at least right now, it seems a bit tough to break into this saturated market. But, then I remember the good points; New york is full of photographers, that is true, but, New York City is also full of tasteful clients whom expect nothing but the highest quality. The key is letting people know that you, indeed, exist, and are a true professional at what you do. A sentence I like to quote in french is ” Pas de savoir faire sans faire savoir ”. I don’t really know the right way to translate it into English yet, so I ll come back to this one to translate later
With this blog, I want to explain to you my new chosen path, my new chosen City, what I am currently going through personally and professionally and how I am evolving in the most exciting City in the world. I will share with you my new images and feelings about this wonderful journey, as they transpire.
Have fun,
